March 2010:

UGANDA:  Pope appoints Bishop of Jinja Diocese
On 2nd March, 2010, The Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI appointed Rt. Rev.  Charles Martin Wamika, Auxiliary of Tororo Diocese, Uganda, as second Bishop, Jinja Diocese, Uganda.

 He succeeds Rt. Rev. Joseph B. Willigers M.H.M., whose resignation from the pastoral care of the same diocese was accepted, upon having reached the age limit. Bishop Wamika was born on 12th August 1953 in Budaka. He was ordained a priest on 22nd September 1979. On 18th October 1993, he was elected Titular Bishop of Tacape and Auxiliary Bishop of Tororo. He was consecrated a Bishop on 19th February 1994.
